Late entry: this appointment never happened, I chickened out :)

I am going to see Dr. Hodges in Kingsport for the first time 8-25-08. Three months seems like a long time to wait. When I  had my physical with Dr Kelly McQueen I had some worsening of some of the health problems that I'd like to eliminate. My blood pressure was really high (I'd gone off my BP med and they had lost my paperwork at the office, so I was agitated) and when she examined my legs they'd been dangling off the table for about 30 min and I actually had pitting edema in my shins. I was mortified. 

I'm getting alot of mixed opinions from friends and colleagues about my proposed lap-band surgery. Some are for it, others think that i'm not that overweight and it's unnecessary. I guess I don't look like i'm 100 lbs overweight to some people, but I can't wait for a more effective solution to my weight problem.
