"My wife ( lisa Hook) was a patient of a certain Doctor whos name I won't mention, but I added her name, so he can think about this posting. I sit here writing this as my wife lay on the couch crying from being in pain. My son and I were up most of the night again, rubbing my wife's back, because she has so much pain in her stomach and it radiates into her lower back from all the surgeries she had starting with the gastric bypass she had back in Oct. of 2001. Since then, she has been to the emergency room at least 200 times, because of chronic pain. Between my insurance company and myself, we have probably spent over $200,00 for surgeries, emergency room visits, inpatient and out patient care costs as well as numerous medications. The lack of bed side manner and the fact that he would only come in for 5 minutes to basically say hi, being told she was a drug seeker because of the chronic pain, being told after the last surgery, ( which was the reversal of her gastric bypass), when she was told by this Dr. that she would gain back all her weight. Well, guess what Dr. , you were wrong again. Now she is down to 97 pounds and suffering more and more everyday. The thing about this that irritates me the most is, the after care. My kids and I are the ones who have to sit up late hours at night rubbing her back because of the pain, walking her back and forth to the bathroom, because she is to weak to walk on her own, running her hot baths late at night so she can try and relax, watching her throw up everything she eats and drinks. I don't see the people who were involved with these surgeries, volunteering to do these things so my kids and I can get a good nights rest. On one of the visits after her gastric bypass removal, he told told her, " not to come see him anymore because there is nothing he can do for her and that he was done. That's really nice coming from the main person who did all her surgeries and now her stomach is full of scar tissue from doing all the surgeries that were recommended to her. Now we are seeing a whole new team of specialists, dieticians, and a surgeon, who are trying to figure how to fix all the damage that was done. If they can't figure out what to do, the next step is the Mayo Hospital in Rochester. All we want is for her to be healthy again, so she can eat, and gain weight, play with our new grand daughter, go out and enjoy fishing in the boat, go out to eat with the family, and for her to just be able to smile. We want our lives back, full of fun and joy. So people, please, before you think about doing a gastric bypass, exhaust all other resources before doing so, and most important, before letting anyone talk you into doing a gastric reversal, read up on all the problems on the internet before going forward. Doing the reversal means they go in and remodify your stomach (agaiin) and digestive track which causes more scar tissue and with the end result being, living a life as our family is. I'm happy to see that most of you had success, but remember one thing if nothing else, people and the different end results after surgeries such as these are what makes statistics, which my wife is a major part of now. Gos bless all of you whom have had good results. If you have had similar results as our, I would love to hear from you. [email protected]"
