I am 38 years old and I was a chubby kid and an obese teenager. So I have never known anything else. But, I am scheduled to have surgery in about 36 hours. For the first time in a long time I am optimistic that this will be the chance I have been hoping for. My highest weight ever was over 350 pounds. That was right before I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes and my physician had me work with a nutritionist to get the weight down. I did get down about 75 pounds from there. But after a few years I crept back up into the 300s again. On my presurgical diet I am down to 290.
