12/02/06 Oh my how time flies! I haven't updated in so long. Well alot has happened. I am now divorced as of 10/09/06 It was rough. We are trying to remain friends. Its hard though. I am down 50lbs and feeling great. I have other health problems that are impairing my energy which will be fixed soon hopefully. Long story short, I need a pacemaker, yeah I only 32 but because of some previous health issues with my pituitary gland, its all interconnected and so the electrical part of the heart isn't working, so after further testing, I am sure I will need one. I can't wait really to see how my energy speeds up. My Doctor, hmmmm he is fired. Dr. Jaykumar, was a great surgeon, however, after the surgery he just doesn't seem to get me. He doesn't seem to care what I think or say, he just says this is the best way, which isn't always the right way. I will eventually find a new doctor, Right now my last fill is doing great. Anyways that pretty much all right now.
05/30/06 I haven't updated in a while so thought I would do it. I have lost a total of 30lbs now, feeling good, clothes are getting loose having to buy more already. I am doing well.
April 2006- This month sucked. My husband and I are splitting up. He cheated on me. Can you believe that? Apparantly he hasn't been happy for a year. This is really hard to deal with and try and eat right too. But I will survive and He will soon see what he has lost.
02/16/06 Well so far I have lost 10lbs I went for my first fill yesterday but the doc could not located it by hand, therefore I have to go back next friday and do it under xray. Oh well, at least I am losing, but I am eating way too much food, that is the reason behind the fill.
01/03/06 Well I am on the other side- I am done with surgery. It was a bit rough for me with the pain, and I had a Hiatal hernia that he repaired during surgery. The stupid recovery nurse gave me way too much Morhpine and it made me vomit right after surgery cause i had an empty stomach, he gave me like 10mg total. I had to stay overnight because of it. But other than that I am home and doing good.
12/30/05 APPROVED having surgery tommorrow-because my insurance changes the first. I am a bit nervous.
12/16/05 Anxiously awaiting to hear from Neweigh about my approval.
12/8/05 Pulmonolgist cleared me, and Cardiologist cleared me. Been through alot between the two. I am really getting weary from all this but i know it is worth it. Neweigh is trying hard to get me approved before the end of the year so I can have the surgery before the first. Shouldn't be too much longer now.
12/02/05 Went to a Aftercare Class, discouraging, because all they talked about was the RNY and not the lap band. And the councler knew nothing of the Lap Band. Blah Also now i have to get cleared from a pulmonologist and Cardologist.
11/23/05 Weighed in--- NOTHING! I don't know what my problem is. I exercise, I follow the diet. GRRRRR
11/19/05 We found out my husbands insurance will change at the first of the year, to BCBS IL Not sure if they pay for the surgery or not. I pray they do. This diet is not going too well. But I am still trying and I am exercising.
11/10/15 Weighed in today, i haven't lost anything in the first two weeks. But i haven't gained either
11/01/05 Got my first Denial letter today from the inital request from my insurance. Not bummed, Neweigh says thats normal for all insurances even if they cover it.. Because you have to do all the testing to make it Medically Necessary. Anyways, started my diet on friday and weighed in the day before have to go back on the 10th to weight in.
10/26/05 Had my EGD today..... It was Normal.... Thank God! It wasn't fun though they spray this banana flavored cetacain in your mouth to numb your throat, it is nasty, burns going down and made me gag, my throat is a bit sore from the scope, oh well, it is over with YAY!
10/19/05 Got Labs from Neweigh today, My H-Pylori was positive so I have an infection that is probably causing a ulcer. So I have to take a Prev-Pak which is prevacid and antibiotic. So I am sure My GI doctor will do that after the EGD. Also found out I have to have a CPAP machine so after insurance approval I have to go back to Apnix and get fitted for it. Then go get weighed at Neweigh to start my prep program and go weigh in every 2 weeks.
10/14/05 Started my 1200 Calorie ADA diet today, so much more food than I normally eat, but doing good so far. I have to lose 20 lbs before surgery. Wish me Luck
10/12/05 Saw Nutritionist today and Gi Doctor for my EGD, just need to schedule the EGD and get it done, and start my diet.
10/09/05 Sleep Study was miserable. I hope I never have to go through that again. but it is over. Also have lab work and Psych eval that all went well.
09/20/05 Went to my consultation today with Dr. Jay. Went well, I have to have a sleep study, lab work, psych eval, nutrition eval, an egd, aproval from my endocrinologist, and 90 day diet eval. I have Scheduled my sleep study for Oct. 9th, lab, psych for the next morning Oct 10th, my EGD for Oct 12th. I still have to call for the Nutritionist, my Endo, and I think I will be done. More Later
09/15/05 Went to my consultation today with Dr. Alanis at Neweigh. He thinks I do not qualify for Rny, He suggest Adj Lab Band. Very emotional day. Have to get phychological eval, nutritional eval, sleep study, and a 90 day trial period on a nutrition plan. Will have to see Dr. Jay, Dr. Alanis does not do the band.
I am 30 year old woman, with no kids, and a wonderful husband. My reasoning for wanting this surgery is for two reasons: 1. I want to be healthy 2.When I decide to do fertility to get pregnant, I want it to be a healthy pregancy, it is only fair to the baby and myself to be healthy.
09/06/05-I just got off the phone with Neweigh....giving insurance info, to see if it will cover it so i can get an appointment. I know this insurance covers it, cause it says so in the benefit info. Anyways, the lady on the phone was really nice the last time i called, so this is why i chose to go with them this time. And I have heard lots of positive info on this company so If any of the surgeons take my insurance, i will probably stick with them. If not then more research will continue. I am feeling good today. A little tired but that is everyday. The lady at Neweigh said she will try to get back with me today if not it would be tomorrow. Sounds good to me. Thanks
