"I had tried everything to keep weight off, so much so when I decided on WLS all my pre-op requirements were done. It was a matter of picking a surgeon and getting it done. I did look into a couple of programs, and decided Dr Averbach and St Agnes was the program for me. I am a type 2 diabetic, and OSA, and was 311lbs at my heaviest, 305 prior to surgery. 4 months out, lost 70+ lbs.
Dr Averbach is very complete and will answer all questions you have. He seems a bit "dry" when you meet him but opens up as you get to know him. Office staff is great, over all program is great. St Agnes has a great support group in place. Both his skill as a surgeon and bed side manner are top notch all the way. They make sure you are ready for "mushies" when you leave the hospital, and hospital stay was pleasant,, well as pleasant as a hospital can be when you have had major surgery. I would fully recommend Dr A and St Agnes to all those thinking about WLS."
