Hello! My name is Dawnette and I am a 41 year old overweight married female - like most who carry many titles, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Sister, daughter - I have been overweight the majority of my life. I remember going to the doctor at 20 years old and having the doctor write "grossly obese", boy did that help my self esteem.
I have researched the RNY for over 10 years when a friend had it, I have been denied from my insurance many times - finally after lots of prayer and having to be put on am insulin pump (using u-500) did my doctor finally say hey I am willing to have you check in to gastric bypass surgery. I started all of my things to prepare for the surgery last August - due to errors on my part as well as missing paperwork it took my insurance until this week to not approve the surgery. Yeah I finally had Christmas in July ( I was approved) now I am waiting for my consultation then surgery date. I do have a problem - I have gained even more weight since the first time this started - insulin is hard on a body. I have to lose about 10 pounds - so I am starting the liquid diet tomorrow and praying for the best.
