"The nurses and staff were excellent. I had a problematic roommate in my room, as this hospital does not have private rooms. I guess the only negative thing is, next time I am going to make sure I get a private room. This hospital is suppose to be getting them eventually. I was in misery for over 2 days cause of my roommate."

"I have been researching Gastric Bypass for almost a year now and recently decided to go in to Dr. Denis Halmi (Woodbridge, Virginia) for an interview. I walked into the office and was immediately greeted by the receptionist who seemed to be very polite. I started filling out the prelimiary paperwork, but found myself taking my time, because I kept talking to the other patients in the office; everyone from the patients to the receptionists made me feel very comfortable. I met Dr. Halmi who greeted me with a nice smile which made me feel very relaxed. He started explaining the procedure and I told him I would have a list of questions to ask after he was done. He seemed very nice, but kind of quiet (So be prepared and have a list ready). Dr. Halmi seems to be a very nice and professional person, but you really need to do some homework before you go in so you know what kind of questions you want to ask. He explained the risks and benefits from the surgery. I would give him an Excellent rating for my overall evaluation of my first impression of him. There was only one issue that made me more anxious and concerned; the time it took for them to send the request for pre-approval to my insurance company. I called my insurance company several times to only be told that the doctors office did not fax any information over yet. I then called Dr. Halmi's office several times and kept asking them to send it over (They advised they faxed it over) but I told them that I was advised it was not sent yet. I ended up speaking with a lady named Maria, at Dr. Halmis office who was VERY NICE. I told her that I have spoken to my insurance company and they did not receive any paperwork yet (Either it got mis routed, lost, etc?). I then spoke to my insurance company who called the Doctors office themselves, and with the help of the office staff at Dr. Halmis office (in particular, Maria), they finally received the required information. "
