Long Roads

Feb 15, 2010

Stress sucks for weight loss. I am eating on the go and definitely feeling it. My3 month post-op anniversary passed and I am struggling. I know it will all come together eventually but ... man oh man do I need a break!

On Friday my oldest boy (Joey age 4) has been admitted to Arkansas Children's Hospital. Friday afternoon we finally got to take him to his PCP because he was having some really bad leg pains and swelling on his right knee. I put it off for close to a week thinking it was just growing pains and giving him Motrin. Well, it got worse and worse and he lost his color and his eyes got dark and he finally stopped walking normally. He limped severely and used his arms to pull himself up the stairs and he basically just sat in front of the TV because he couldn't move.

So trying to make a long story short... The doctors have run hundreds of tests and put the boy through hell just to come up with the response "We don't know what is wrong." I am frustrated and my heart is breaking for him because I see him in pain and I can't do anything. They have ruled out bacterial infections which was the first thought because his numbers are not high enough and his cultures are coming back negative. So now they are thinking Jr Rheumatoid Arthritis (or something like that) and we will see more specialists over the next few days. In the meantime my husband and I have been taking turns sleeping at the hospital with him. Tomorrow my husband has to go back to work so my youngest son (Xander age 3) and I will be moving into the hospital until Joey is released. My husband works swing shift at the moment (2-11pm) and the distance from the house/base to the hospital is a long one.

Gonna close my eyes and say a prayer and do some laundry so I can head back to the hospital in the morning.
