10/9/10

9 years since my surgery and it has been a struggle but overall, still glad I did it.  My weight has gotten as low as 192 and then slowly climbed back up to as high as 299 in the past 3 years. I am now at 267 as of today. Still at least not 363 like before surgery, but I would prefer to be closer to 200.  I still cannot eat as much as before surgery but have to remember to make good, healthy choices.  High calorie foods and drinks with low nutrition are not my friend. I feel these have been my downfall. Also, I have to remember not to "graze".  Although I might not can eat it now, I sometimes come back to leftovers in an hour or 2 and eat it - not good!   I have been doing better in the last 2 months and have lost about 32 lbs.  I feel better, my clothes are looser, I can fit into some older clothes and actually there are now some items I can no longer wear because they "swallow" me. That's not something I have been able to say in a few years.  I have not done a good job of exercising either. So, I don't blame the surgery for my downfall; it is completely my own doing.  I wasn't disciplined before and have not been disciplined since - on a consistent basis. I know I can do better and am determined to do so.  Hope to have a better post next time.
