FAT TRUCK DRIVER 21 DAYS POST OP

Apr 24, 2007

Hello people. 3 weeks post op as of today. Life is slowly returning to normal. The weight loss continues! As of this morning my weight was 259. So that would be about 40 lbs lost forever! I continue to do my exercise. 30 minutes a day on the treadmill at 2.2 mph. also at an incline. As far as food goes, im trying different foods to see what I can and cannot tolerate. There's proabably lots food that I could eat, that would taste really good but doesnt meet my nutrient needs. So I will avoid them. My NUT wants me to stay about 900 calories and 105 protein grams a day. Sometimes its hard to find high protein and low calories together. So I try and stay with foods that I can mix in my protein powder with and boost the protein count with. It goes well in soups and stews. It also goes well in cottage cheese. Im thirsty alot it seems, so I know im not getting enough to drink. So im paying extra mind to sipping water all day long now. That too will help with the weight loss. I have to see my surgeon on thursday the 26th, I think he will clear me to return to work next week. Its going to be difficult to maintain my new eating habbits in the truck, but im up for it. If any OTR drivers are in the same situation, Id like to hear how the do it. .....OK...See ya'll Later

Hello people....ok...14 days out of surgery....Im down 30 lbs.......The cuts on the outside of my belly are healing up nicely...The doctor says everything is good on the inside...I have almost NO pain having to due with this surgery....BIG lifestyle change!!! I have been living on soups and shakes and sugarfree pudding. Today I advance to soft foods!!!!Im pretty happy about that....The first week I was not hungry...Second week however I do get hungry....So Im ready to start on some more substantial foods. I started exercising 3 days ago. 1st day I walked on the treadmill at 2.0 mph. for 15 minutes. I was soaking wet like I had just run a marathon. The 2nd day I made it to 20 minutes. Today I went 20 minutes @ 2.2 mph and then 10 minutes @ 1.5 mph. Im hoping that the exercise will keep the weight falling off. Im also hoping that I will start enjoying the exercise...LOL...thats what I have heard, that exercise will become addictive!...OK folks...I will be back in 2 weeks with an update. oh and by the way....I hate carls Jr commericals!

FAT TRUCK DRIVER - 7 Days

OK im back again. Im 7 days out of surgery. Im feeling a little better. The pain from the cutting is going away more and more each day. I still get a little queasy pretty much whenever I drink anything but it seems to subside in a few seconds after its down. Im taking all the drugs and vitamins faithfully as prescribed by the doc. I must confess that I am friggin tired of protein shakes. So now I just add the prescribed amount of protein powder right into my breakfast cereal or my lunch soup or my dinner soup. Doesnt seem to change the flavor at all. OK. so I will be back in a week....Late
