I began this journey to become a healthier, happier wife and mother. My dad passed away from a massive heart attack at the young age of 53 and I do not want to follow the same path. So, after research and prayer, my husband and I found Dr. Bauman in January 2015 and decided on the VSG to be scheduled for June 2015. I wanted to have it in the summer because the kids would be out of school. I was EXCITED about my upcoming surgery, it took 1 month to meet all of my requirements and get insurance approval! Then on April 1 my husband had a heart attack and was on life support for 5 days. We had to say good-bye him on April 6. So, here I was, suddenly a widow and a single mom to 2 amazing boys. What should I do?!? After prayer, speaking my surgeon, PCP, the boys, and a few great friends, we decicded to continue with the surgery. I had the VSG on June 17, 2015. It was the easiest procedure and recovery I have every had!!! Dr. Bauman and his staff were amazing and I am so thankful I went through with it. My only regret is not having it years ago!!
