I started contemplating WLS back in 2006. I began pursuing WLS seriously back in November 2007. I went to a few seminars and ended up with Dr. Raphael Capella and Dr. Vincent Iannace. I set a surgery date for March 2008 only to find out in January 2008 that I had been declined. After months of appeals, I found out that I was finally APPROVED for the surgery and couldn't wait to take the next step!!!
Well, with that I called my doctor to find out what the next step was and to schedule a date. I found out on June 9th that my doctor has decided to no longer take ANY INSURANCE!!!!!
So, off I go on my journey for a new surgeon. Now I am finding out that not all surgeons do the open banded bypass which is what I had originally chosen. So now I may have to settle for laparascopic bypass, which I was told by my original doctor is not as successful as the banded bypass!!!! UGH!!!!
I will be settling in with a doctor within the next week or so and so will start my journey toward a new life!!!!! But GEESH! it sure wasn't easy getting there!
