Today was my post-op visit with my surgeon.  He says everything is going great and I was advanced to Pureed... Lmao i didnt think i would ever be so hapy to eat refried beans in my entire life. 

I do believe that my NUT is a NUT... i have learned more on here than ever listening to her.  She does me no good and my questions are left unanswered.  

I go back to work on Monday - that should be fun.  Even though my job is administrative I still have to walk 6 blocks to get to it..

oh and BTW i lost 18lbs..

Well I must say that this didnt go as I had planned.  The first day went ok but the second day was filled with gas pains, walking didnt help, I walked from one end of the hospital to another.. Once he gave me some gas medicine and then pain meds it seemed to get better.  I came home on the third day and wasglad to do so.  I still havent set up a schedule to eat yet.. I'm on my full liquid diet and have been eating my jello, chicken broth and water anytime.  Had my first bout with nausea last night and actually threw up, well nothing came up but i hated it all the same. 

My doctor informed me at my pre-op visit that he would not be in the office on March 4th.  So my surgery has been changed to March 7th!!!!  Great my whole world was wrapped around the 4th.. oh well atleast it wasnt a major change like a month or two.
Still so very excited but of course I did some more research and and investigating and saw a post from someone that the life expectancy after Bypass WLS is only about 20yrs, that trully scared me.  Am I still doing the right thing?  I dont want to be writing my own death warrant.. I mean if i dont have this and weight continues to get out of hand I'm pretty much doing that anyway now. 

Until my surgery date. 

I've noticed in the last week I feel I need to eat everything in sight before my 2 weeks pre-op protein diet.  Ive had pie, bagels, cookies, burgers.. all because i know after my surgery this will be then of the sweets and other stuff.  Frustrating as it is, I'm still very excited and nervous and well even scared to lose my favorite foods.  I have to change though, I got myself into this mess and now I gotta use the tools that are given to me to make the change.  :) 

Feb. 25 I go for my pre-op visit as  well as they will be taking my picture - lol I want to say ummm only from the chest up but I know they wont.  Sad but my kids know my picture rules, no whole body pics and only chest up, lol.

My partner and daughter are going on the pre-op protein diet with me to show their support.  I am sooo sure they both will cheat but at least i know they are trying and supporting me. :) I love my family.  My son says I love great just the way I am - wish my health said that too but I know I will be much healthier and happier once I lose this deadly fat.

Well back to work I go...

March 4th will my surgery date.  I have a pre-op visit that I need to schedule but looks like things are going great.

OK you guys I just got the ok from my doctor that the authorization has been approved for my surgery.  Man this puts things into perspective and really makes it REAL.  I've decided to go with the RNY for many reasons and most are because I feel I will be more productive with this surgery. 

We tentatively set my surgery date for 3/4/11 - I still need to work some things out with my employer for the date.
