My weight loss journey from lap band to VSG

Aug 09, 2016

Yesterday was August 8, 2016. I went for my preop physical to get ready for my August 23rd surgery. It was a beautiful drive, had a great visit with my daughter who accompanied me. When we got there they told me that  it would be up to me if we continued with the surgery. But the doctor that would be accompanying my surgeon was going to be in Maine with his wife for his anniversary. The way that the surgeon was asking me it kind of made me feel like he wanted me to change my date. I had already been waiting since December, when he told me we would be doing my surgery in July then in June having to postpone it to August was bad enough, to postpone it again was not an option to me.  The surgeon was going to have support with my surgery but not the doctor that he's had for the last 500 surgeries.  He would have a resident that he would have to tell him what he wanted to see instead of the doctor  that he didn't even have to say anything to the doctor new automatically what was coming next.  He told me because of the surgery would take a little bit longer oh well it's still was going to be done by a competent doctor that is done the surgery thousands of times. I really like my doctor don't get me wrong, but I am so done with waiting and being postpone, this is my turn.

He then went on to tell me on how because of having the lap band for the last 11 1/2 years we're removing it because it slipped and was causing issues that there could be so much scar tissue in there that he would have to just remove the band and not do anything else for 3 to 6 months then go back and do the sleeve.  I'm sure if anybody is reading this they can understand my frustration right now.  I am praying for a miracle that this can all be done in one one surgery. I do not want 2 surgeries for this. I understand his concern for risks. Please God hear me, all my angels in heaven, my mom, my grandma,my dad, please make any scar tissue heal between now and the 23rd. Help me along this journey.

So I'm all set ready for my surgery, just need to do the liquids from today until surgery date. I have to be at the hospital at 6 AM for a 7:35 surgery. Here we go, crossing fingers all goes well and it's one surgery. I sent my prayers are up to heaven I'm asking anybody and everybody who reads this to say a prayer and cross your fingers for me also.
