Wow, to think in four days I will be having my surgery.  It took 8 months to get here, and all the hard work is about to begin.  I know it will be hard, but in a way I'm so looking forward to it.  I have really learned a lot about myself in the last 8 months, and look forward to many more new adventures. 

Anyone on the losers bench have any suggestions for making it through the the first few weeks following surgery? I have the tropical sugar free Popsicles in the freezer (Yummy by the way) and my protein and vitamins ready.  I know we are all going to have different experiences, but any input would be wonderful.

So I started my second week of liquids, still tolerating it well.  But then my thoughts keep turning to the fact that I meet with the bariatic coordinator on 08/18 to do my last minute preoperative bloodwork, my pre-registration at the hospital, and then the very next week I have the surgery.  I am strangely calm, maybe because I have been through surgery before, and I have the utmost confidence in my surgeon Dr. Lamar.  Is there anything I need to know before next week?  Hope everyone else is doing well out there, and I will be joining you soon on the losers bench. 

Hey everyone. Started my liquid diet today. Surgery is just around the bend.  I have chosen to use the isopure and pure protein RTD's, and the Nectar protein powder.  They are tolerable.  I have a question about the the protein powder though.  Can I use soy milk or lactaid with them?  I have started to stock up on the protein drinks already. 

I would like some input as far as vitamins that you seasoned members use.

Seems like I just started looking into surgery, then the lengthy approval process, and now my surgery date is less than a month away.  Where did the time go? Although I'm really excited to start actually living my life, I have to admit that I'm sorta of freaking out.  Usually I can just turn off my brain at night, but the closer the date gets, the more freaky I get.  I have every confidence in my surgeon, it is just such a big thing to put your brain around.

I received my approval for surgery, and I still have preoperative studies to do.  Is that unusual?  I was awaiting my endoscopy referral and opened the thing up and there was my surgery approval.  Now I'm getting excited, and a little freaked out. 

I will keep you updated as I go,  Anyone have any suggestions as to what to expect at the endoscopy?  Never had anything like that before.

I got my referral and I am freaking out.  It seems to be moving along so quickly

Well I finally had my psych visit,, he was a little strange, but okay.  He asked if I was from the south.  I'm a total California native, born and raised, so that question was like totally unexpected. 

I suppose now I just have to wait until they send me the referral for the Bariatric Group.  I would sure like some information as to questions to ask and what not.

Finally got in to have my psych evaluation.  Now I have to wait two weeks to see if he thinks I'm crazy.  Hope everyone here on the site is having wonderful success.  I will eventually get there, I just need to be patient.

I have to say that I'm getting a little bit anxious about my psych visit on 03/03.  Hopefully he won't think I'm crazy or anything. 

Can anyone out there give me an idea of what that is all about?

I finished my nutriton classes in January.  Hopefully the paperwork will get to my PCP quickley.  Now I have to go to a support meeting, missed the one this month due to my Mom passing away.  So will have to go to the next one.  I also have to go to the shrink visit. Should be very interesting!
