Hi Everyone,
I'm 45yrs old and have had a weight problem most of my life. My sister had the RNY surgery 7months ago and has lost 85 lbs. My Mom had to be hospitalized in March 2008 and the emergency room doctor kept going on about her weight. They sent her home without finding out her primary problem which was a blocked artery. She could have died because the doctors were writing her problems off on the weight issues .
The experience had me on the phone with my insurance company asking about criteria. My first visit with the surgeon was last week and I already have a surgery date. Since this is all happening so fast I thought checking out a support group would be benificial.
