My story is somewhat short since I'm only 23 years old. Luckily, I had a great insurance company and doctor who were willing to give me my life back before my weight really did some destruction. However, before the surgery I was already into my first year as a diabetic. I was horrified to learn that I had Type II diabetes and it was all because of my MORBID weight condition. It's funny, because I never really thought of myself that way. I mean, I was overweight-but who wasn't, right! Wrong, now I had a true complication.
My life has completely changed since July 26, 2006. I started out my journey as a 5'2, 236lb extremely self conscious girl and now, only 9 months later I am a 5'2, 138lb, confident woman. I can't believe how far I've come. I am experiencing a life that I never thought was possible. And of course its great that I finally get to shop in the normal size clothes section, but compared to the way I feel inside now with my new self confidence and new self respect, it seems so small!
