So i had my surgery, I am finally all done.  WOuld love for my bust to be where it belongs, but than again another surgery ... I don't know.  I now weigh 145 lbs. and I am happy with that weight.  My scar is slowly healing and I am able to move mostly ...

 

So i am down to 159 lbs and Dr. Warnock gave me the ok to have my Panniculectomy/Abdominoplasty.  I got approved and will have surgery on August 22nd, only drag is I have to drive all the way from Kansas to Texas and than stay in Oklahoma for 10 days afterwards.

other than that I am doing fine.  Learned to eat slower and still hate the Proteinsupplements.

Well, I had my surgery on October 18th.  Dr. Warnock greeted me early at about 6 am that day and  I was given an IV and moved to the surgical ward, where I met the anaesthesiologist.  After surgery I woke up in my room resting comfortably... I have since had little pain, moving the first day was quite hard but not impossible.  I am home now and my mother is helping me with the children, while I get to rest and take it in strides. 

My scar is red and is pinching but it is not unbearable.  Tomorrow I am asked to call the Dr's Office to set up an appointment. I am not to weigh myself for a whole year other than at the Doc';s office.. that itself  is quite a challenge.

Well, I know that I lost almost 20 lbs from the pre-op diet so here I come skinniness.

I GOT A SURGERY DATE....

I am so in shock.  Here I was ready to wait for about 6 months to get a surgery date and than today Dr. Warnock's office called and informed me that I have been approved and that my surgery would be on OCTOBER 18th... wow, 2 weeks and I will have surgery that is so weird..and exciting at the same time. 

I will have to go down to Wichita Falls, the day before surgery to attend nutrition classes and post op nutrition education classes, as well as to get an idea of the hospital procedures and to get pre admission paperwork ready...

So far, so good...

So I had my first consultation on September 20th, 2007 

I met with Dr. Warnock,  he is so wonderful. He was very thorough and detailed.  He explained my situation and the possibilities to me, he even drew a picture of the procedure.  He told me that I was a good candidate, since my BMI is 41.2 and I am almost 100lbs.  overweight.  He than informed me about meetings and the procedures that I have to follow getting up the the surgery. 

I left very well informed awaiting further instructions. As the office told me that they would turn in the report to the insurance and they would have to make a determination as to approving the surgery.

Well, Friday (9/14/07) I had a call from the Bariatrics Center of Wichita Falls.  Dr. Warnock's office called to confirm that they had received my referral and that my appointment for my INITIAL CONSULTATION will be on October 2nd...

So, the wheel is slowly rolling up the hill..

I was told to fill out a Health Questionnaire and fax it to them pre- appointment. I have done that.

So I had a date for my first group meeting... emphasis on HAD... the nurse called me to tell me that the Doctor is deploying, therefore I have to go on the economy to have this done... fine by me.

Now, I am just waiting for Tricare to inform me who it will be...

????
