I've been "Chubby" all my life, but as I've gotten older, the problem has gotten worse. I woke up one morning in 2009 and looked in the mirror and just wanted to cry. I didn't even recognize myself anymore. I'd been fooling myself for a while now and I was finally ready to face the stranger in the mirror and change what I saw!
I have two kids who I adore and they are the main reason I decided to have surgery. I want to be able to run and play with them without having to stop every 5 minutes to catch my breath. My daughter is 5 and so far does not seem to have my weight problems, but I want her growing up with a healthy role model.
So, I had my lap band surgery and I'm facing a whole new world.
