Well it has been 5 months and I am finally recovering from my Thiamine level dropping. The Neurologist says 6-12 months of recovery. Can't wait to walk normal again, although I am walking much better than a couple of months ago. Down 86lbs. Looking forward to maybe another 20 by Christmas we will see how it goes the next couple of months....Deb

Congrads on making it to the other side Deb. Sorry to hear your back is hurting. I recall after my open VBG I had over 6 years ago, that my back was sore for a few weeks. I believe it has to do with those hospital beds. I know I can never sleep well in them. Regardless, blessing to you as you recover. I am still waiting on my insurance approval and hope that I find out this week. (it is on it's third time going thru) Take Care!

Well tomorrow has been one week since surgery. They released me on Friday the 20th. Although I can say I am still in pain and almost out of medication. If I had to do it again I probably would. They had to do open RNY instead of lap as first thought. The open is harder. I can't tell you how much my back hurts right now. Well just wanted to let eveyone know I am out and on the losing side hopefully forever..Deb
