I am scheduled for surgery april 14th....I'm getting excited, which means I'm also getting NERVOUS!!!  My Dr. wants his patients to go on a strict pre-op diet, I will start that 2 weeks prior to surgery.  So my date to start is Thursday.  I will probably feel like i'm literally starving to death for the first few days.  We can only eat broth, nutrition bars and these shakes.  Oh well, I will get thru this.....This i know.

I just joined this site today.  My doctors office said this would be a great way to exchange information and receive support.  So far, I've been on here looking and reading, I'm getting excited!  Some of the fear is starting to melt away.  I see all of you guys doing so great and it gives me hope that i can do just as good.  My surgery is April 14, 2010.  I am having the Duodenal Switch. I don't see alot of people on here that are having the DS so that's sort of scary......I'm going to be optimistic, i'm not going to allow myself to think negative.  I've prayed about this and I believe that this is what is meant to be.  I have to do a 2week pre-op diet of shakes and bars.  This is what my surgeon likes us to do to try and shrink the liver.  I will post more soon.  :)
