New Year's Eve

Yesterday was a real scare, I began having palpitations to the point where it felt like my heart would popped out of my chest. Worst case that I've ever experienced. I've had occasional episodes when I've laid down at night. 

So I was taken by ambulance from my nearby urgent care to the hospital. I was diagnosed with AFib. Tomorrow I'll call to schedule an appointment with my cardiologist, who last Wednesday gave me a thumbs up for surgery. Heart issues are scary, most recently I had a 55-yr old cousin drop dead from a heart attack a couple of hours after seeing his doctor and getting a thumbs up on his health. I don't have any info that he had heart disease, so I don't want to compare apples to oranges. Heart disease is prominent in my immediate and extended family, however, everyone else have been moderate to heavy smokers, with the exception of my mom. The heart disease victims, my mom died at the age of 83 in 1997, then in 1999 my oldest brother from a brain anuerysm at 63, my sister in 2001 at the age of 53. As I said, they started smoking at a young age. 

It's just unsettling, maybe that's why I have the urge to celebrate before my life changes, for the good.
