Two Months

Well after another trip to the hospital and a third surgery.....thing's are going great. I had really bad stomach cramps about two weeks ago and was vomiting all day what looked to be like coffee grounds, Yummy!! So I took a trip to the ER and they said there was blood in my vomit so they were going to put in an NG tube to drain my stomach, yeah, I don't think so!! They ended up admitting me and Dr. B said to wait it out a couple of day's to see if thing's would get better, well they didn't. He went back in and found that scar tissue formed and was blocking my intestine, so he cleared it out and things are great now. No complaints, I was able to eat at thanksgiving and the weight is just falling off of me. I had a good weekend, I had to buy some new jeans and I was able to fit into a size 18, I don't ever remember being an 18. I started out at 316 and I am now 227, 89 pounds gone forever!!! Woo Hoo!!!
One Month Update

Wow, what a ride!! I'm one of the unlucky ones who had a rough recovery. Dr. B had to go back in and check for problems, he ended up finding that I have post op pancreatitus, not fun, but all is well now, just really weak. Dr. B and his team were soooo good to me, very caring, just good people. I spent two weeks in the hospital until everything cleared up and was sent home. I didn't eat much this month due to the liquid diet and then the pancreatitus so I've lost a bit of weight. I started out at 316 and today I weigh 250 so that's 66 pounds in a month, it's scary but it feels great. Not to fond of all the compliments, never really did like attention but I guess I have to get used to it. I'm taking my calcium, ade&k's (yuk!) and my iron, they are not too bad, but the protein, um that's the hard part, first you have to find something you can tolerate then you have to try to get it all in. I haven't been doing a good job of getting it all in but it's hard. I'm getting bored with the puree stage, I'm so ready to move on to the soft foods. I did cheat and I ate a scrambled egg with cheese, it was the best thing I've ever tasted!! It went down fine and I had no problems until my mom found out!!! She yelled at me and told me I'm going to be right back in the hospital, so I've been good, no more eggs for me. Everything is going good, I don't miss eating all the time, I have allot more free time to sleep!! I have to start exercising and pushing myself to get some energy back. I have to meet with Dr. B on Thursday for my check up and I have another ct scan tomorrow.

Tomorrow is the big day. I have been on the liquid diet for 5 days now and it wasn't that fun!! I feel like I need a reward, like a "last meal" to get me by. I can't wait to get this over with and start over and not worry about food so much.

I just got a call from Jamie about changing my date, I thoght it was for a later date. But here it's sooner the 24th of September. Yippie

Finally, I'm so excited. I talked to Jamie today and she said September 29th. I finally fell like I'm getting somewhere. I can't wait to start my journey.
The Scope

Well I had my scope done yesterday and it was nothing. Everyone at Abington Surgical Center was great, so nice. Dr. Bonanni said I had a small hernia and it was nothing to worry about. I just have to call the office in a week to get a date. YEAH 
Meeting with the Dr.

Well today I met with Dr. Bonanni, I went into that office so nervous. But after I met him I felt alot better. He was so nice, he joked around and then we got to the serious stuff. He went over the surgeies with me and he said the DS would be best for me. I have to get a sleep study done and then on the 22nd of May I get my scope done. He also said I have a fatty liver, but that it was normal in obese patients, so I feel pretty good about this, I'm not scared at all. After I get my scope done he will start the Insurance process, and the I will be scheluled.

Well I've done all my tests and scans about a month ago and I've just been waiting to see the Dr. I have my surgical consult this Friday with Dr. Bonanni. It seems like it took forever to get here. I hope it all goes smooth with the insurance and I can get a date.
