Well, here it is 5 YEARS after surgery. I had gastric bypass, LAP RNY on July 24 2002, in Phoenix Arizona.
My starting weight was 250lbs. I was losing pretty regularly as do most patients. But for me, it was taking too long.
I had no complications with the surgery, before during and even after. So evrything was pretty much taking its course.
A year after surgery I moved from Phx Arizona to Oahu Hawaii.
I left Arizona weighing 145lbs with only 10lbs more to lose. I was excited and ready for Hawaii!!!!
But little did I know that in Hawaii, there are so many different fusions of foods with lots of ethnic flavors. I did surcomb to the poor choices in foods here in Hawaii.
It is hard to do here, where SPAM and Rice are the staple foods and everywhere you go there it is on the menu.
It wasnt long before the 10lbs I needed to lose actually gained 10lbs. I was weighing 150lbs....but no worries I was still trying to lose and eat right.
Then a year later I gained another 10lbs. Weighing in at 160lbs.
Well now, 5 years after surgery, I am now weighing in at 165lbs. I am beginning to feel it again.
The stiff neck, the stiff back, lower back pain, the enlarged stomach, getting hot sweats, feeling no energy, just tired.
So I have made the decision to eat only healthy foods and small portions again like I did right after surgery. Let's hope it works, and when it does, then I am having my plastic surgey done/!!!!!
