"The nursing staff is wonderful. They made sure I had my pain meds and that I kept walking. The respiration guy was hilarious and made sure I kept doing my exercises. The push, from everyone, to walk helped a lot. Even when I was grumpy about it. "
"He is very business like, but friendly. I didn't feel rushed at all by him in getting my questions answered. He was very intent on stressing that it is up to me to make it work and that he really doesn't want any complications. I can help prevent them by the thorough screening tests he asked for, and by exercising and eating 4-5 small meals a day, cutting out high fat and sugar, etc... As you have to do after surgery. I really like him, but now I have to wait on a sleep study before I can schedule surgery. I also like that they have a nutritionist to help you after surgery. Dr. Lane also told me how you still could gain weight if you don't eat right, so to realize it really is a change for the rest of your life and it's up to me to make it work. I don't know how is surgical competence it yet, but hoping to find out. The facility at BTC is well suited for the obese. I almost felt small in the large chairs. They also have a person speak to you who has completed surgery. It was nice to hear about the patient's experience (not all positive).
01/2004 - Only good things to say about him now that surgery is over. He really pushed the walking and breathing exercises while in the hospital and sat down and talked with me before surgery, while I was in pre-op. That was a great personal touch that helped me relax and answer all my last minute questions. "
"I thought he'd be against the surgery, but he was very positive and very quick to help me get the tests done that I needed and to try to speed up my appointment with a specialist. His nursing staff is also excellent. Always willing to help and very upbeat and positive."
