MaryBeth was born on March 5, 1975 as Immaculee Joy Wienk. On September 30, 1986 I was adopted and became MaryBeth. She pretty much was spoiled her entire life. Ater graduating Catholic elementary school she went to a vocational High School where in 1994 she graduated with a specialization in Culinary Arts. In 1995 she had her first child, a son named Damien. Single mom, cooking in a breakfast/lunch place was her life.
2000- she met him......Steve, he became her everything. A father to her son and a love like she had never had before. He was the first man to make her feel beautiful. They were engaged shortly after- about six months later!
2004-- Steve and MaryBeth found out that they were pregnant and not just any pregnancy but twins!!! At this time they recieved devastating news, Steve was also diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. He would recieve treatment and be just so sick all the time and miss out on a lot during the pregnancy.
April 30, 2005 MaryBeth gave birth to 2 beautiful little girls ( Samantha and Makayla) Steve showed up at the hospital shortly after the first baby was pulled out. The twins were born at 32 weeks, and no one knew at that time what a blessing it was that they were so early!
July 14,2005 Steve passes away. This is a devasting blow to MaryBeth everyone questions if she will ever recover. Being as resilent as she is the bounce was faster than she thought it would be! She begins friendships with family and parts of Steve's family. Some friendships become strong if not stronger than before. Her best friend and confidant becomes Brian, Steve's step brother. He comes to help her everyday and her way to show thanks was to cook for him as well as the kids!
February 14, 2006 Brian and MaryBeth start a relationship. It was difficult at first but as time went by it becomes easier!
October 2006- Brian and MaryBeth get engaged.
On a personal note: I never thought I would find my true love again. At the time, everyone kept telling me that everything happens for a reason and my question was " why would God take a man away from his newborn children? In the prime of his life? Just before we were planning to marry?" I thought, no actually I knew that Steve was one of my soul mates but he was destined for greater things! He is the guardian angel of our twins!! They are blessed to have so many earthly people love them but even more blessed to have even more heavenly people love them!! My life up until this point had been a roller coaster but it was all about to change again but this time was for the better!!!
After a long decision MaryBeth decided to have WLS for many reasons. She told people that she wanted wear a wedding dress and not a wedding tent! Her true reason was to be healthy enough to stay here for her children and Brian!
So here we all are today --- August 8th was the surgery!!!
