It's almost two weeks since the surgery and I actually feel really good.  I go back to work today ( have to get up in about 4 1/2 hours) and I haven't really been hungry or having problems.

I was a little light headed today but I am doing my best to try to get protein into my diet. I got clearance to start excersising today so I will be doing that after work so I don't get flabby.  The weight is actually coming off faster than I thought and I know that will stop pretty soon and go slower so I am enjoying the ride while it last.  I keep my ticker up to date so you can always watch my progress with me.

My stomach where the drainage tube was is still tender and it still hurts to bend over to get things but nothing too major.  I guess that is about it for now.  Hope everyone is doing well.

We got back from the surgery Friday night and we leave again tomorrow to get the drainage tube taken out. Then I won't have the discomfort I have been having with these tube inside and outside of my body.

Everything went pretty well...had a couple of things to deal with....I almost didnt get the surgery cause my blood pressure was too high, after surgery I wasn't getting enough oxeygen because I was so doped up with the morphin and I had a drug reaction to some anti nausea meds but all in all it was fine.

As you know for the past 5 years I have been over 300 pounds and my highest was 325 at my daughter's graduation in May of 2006. Well I am 6 days post op and GOODBYE 300'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I weighed in today at 299.5. Plus I already have more energy and my feet are no longer swollen and they have been swollen for years. Can you believe it....just 6 days out.

Well it's 10 minutes till midnight and the dreaded liquid diet begins.  We are leaving around 9:30 tomorrow morning to Lubbock for surgery.

I will see you all on the losing side!  I'll write when we get back.

Talked to Rebecca at Dr. Frezza's office today and my rescheduled date is April 15th.  At least this time I will have good company.  Tanya and Kathy both got rescheduled for the same day...We can have races walking in the hallway. :).

Wish me luck.  19 more days.

Well, I was getting excited and counting down the days till surgery (7 to be exact).  The hotel and transportation had been lined up, my eldest daughter had taken off work, my employer had given me the two weeks and planned for it, set up arrangements for my youngest to stay with other people for the week and changed her bus route for school and guess what?  Yah....I got a call today from the surgeons office.

MY SURGERY HAS BEEN MOVED OUT 2 WEEKS!!!!!  I feel bad for my doctor but after 6 months of testing and waiting.....ugh.  My doctor had an accident skiiing I believe she said and he hurt his arm and can't perform surgery for 3 weeks.  My surgery will be either April 14th, 15th or 16th.  She said they would call me and let me know which day. 

I'm just feeling soooo blue right now.  I finally saw the light at the end of my tunnel and feel like I have been in a cave in.  I will let you know when the actual surgery date is rescheduled for.

Well, yesterday was my 44th birthday and it will be the last one where I look like this.  In 11 more days I will have a "new" birthday...April 2, 2008.  I have gained 13 pounds since I had met with my surgeon at the end of November.  I have lost 6 pounds of that so I am getting closer  but still not there and the birthday cake isn't helping. When I get on the scale tomorrow I will probably have gained that 6 back from the cake.  This week will be a lot of protein shakes and getting last minute stuff together before we leave.  I have had a couple of days of nervousness and being scared but those have subsited and I am back on my positive journey.

Well, two weeks from today we leave for Lubbock and I'm getting so nervous.  I've been trying to get together everything I need to take but I'm afraid I will forget something important. I still have to go buy a heating pad and colored pillow case  (thanks for the tips) for the trip.

It's after midnight and I can't sleep. I don't know why but I'm feeling sorta blue and feel like crying but there isn't any reason too.  My stomach is all in knots.  Anxiety I guess. 

I'm looking forward to my support group meeting on Wednesday for any last minute advice.  It seems like the 6 months took FOREVER to get here but yet it doesn't.  I am soooo ready to start living better and to do more things with my children.  

If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them.

I never thought this day would ever get here but it did.  Almost 6 months to the date I had the first test I will have my surgery. I started Pre Ops on October 3, 2007 and by the time they were all done, the insurance approval, waiting for the surgery date and finally the surgery date....it is one day shy of that 6 months. 

My surgery is April 2, 2008 in Lubbock Texas.  

If anyone has any great wisdoms to pass on to me I would greatly appreciate them. What to do, what NOT to do etc...

Well, I went to my first support group meeting and it was nice.  Everyone was very friendly and it helped to know that there are others that are dealing with issues that I deal with and those who can give their wisdom to what they have experienced. Thank you Judy for letting me know about the meetings. 

If you can find a support group in your area I would highly recommend it.

I signed up in October of 2007 when I first went to go for my pre ops but really don't know how to use this system so I haven't done much.  Looking for new friends if there are any out there.  Hope to hear from you.
