I have been fighting my weight most of my adult life, was "skinny kid". Seems getting married and having children changed all that. I never really lost the weight I gained with two pregnancies. Oh I did lose it but gained it back and then lost it, gained it, lost it again and gained more. Never thought I was "that big", however recent visit with my sisters reinforced how much weight I have put on. Then when I saw my PCP for slightly elevated blood sugars he shocked me when he suggested I have bariatric surgery. Saw a local surgeon, was very interested however I found out there is an exclusion on our insurance at work. Rats... Back to thinking about surgery; was planning on LapBand but then did not like that idea after all. The surgeon I saw originally explained all three types, RNY, LapBand and VSG. I was directed to OH by a friend who had LapBand last year and loves it.
