I was taken downstairs for my swallowing test.  A few minutes later being return to my room, I started gagging and could not breath. Sounds came out of me I never heard before gasping for breath. They called a code and the place went nuts.
They said slow down and stop breathing to hard for the air to enter. Well........I was ready to passout and started to do what they asked. It helped but did not stop it totally. Got up to my room and it started again. They put me on full oxygen, which  help and put something in my iv. That really helped, After all was done. I was told I had an esophogial spasm. They think it could have been what I drank.  What a scare!  I sounded like a honk that would not end.

I have done everything that they asked for and now the last step in this part of my life is finished. Surgery date is Oct. 18, 2011. I will be preparing for this step. That gives me 3 weeks. I hope I can lose 5 more pounds. Getting items needed for after surgery. Reading as much information about postop care. Hugs to you all for your help. Peggy

Maybe if I complain enough, I will get some results. All paperwork is done.....all test's are done. Insurance had been approved. last week...........9/14/11..........I was told they will call with a surgery date. I am just worn out.
