Well here goes. I have been putting this off for a while now. I had my surgery on Sept. 25th, 2007. I have ,like most, been struggling with my weight for long time. I wasn't an overweight child but my grandfather always said I would be fat. His nickname for me was "fatty". I believed I was fat. We never had fast food ever! I was raised by my maternal grandparents. It wasn't until I was 14-15 when I was on my on that I discovered fast food. To kind of compensate (excuse I know) for all the issuses I was dealing with I ate, and ate. By the time I was in high school (Four different ones), I was at least 250 lbs. After graduation I feel head overheels for a guy. I went on a drastic diet and exercise plan. I lost 80 lbs. Then that didn't last. Be careful what you wish for sometimes you might get it!! Anyway I did meet my husband at that weight. I slowly started gaining it back, plus. In 2003 I gave birth to my daughter. Didn't gain anything during pregancy, which is common for overweight women. After words I continued to gain. I was at 370 when my Aunt Joyce who had battled weight related illnesses most of her life died at 63!! It was a loud wake up call to me. The only complication I have is Sleep Apnea, but I know what is coming. I had to do something, I could lose 10 percent at Weight Watchers, but I couldn't go any farther or keep it off. Finally my doctor suggested a Gastric Bypass. Kaiser pay for it so I signed up, took the 6 months of classes. GREAT BUNCH OF PEOPLE. The six months flew by. Then I kind of dragged my feet a little bit and then decided it was now or never and did it. It has been two weeks as of today Oct. 7th, 2007. I dont regret anything yet. My surgury went great. I feel good. I starting back to work tomorrow. I am having a problem with getting my protein in and I feel hungry and different times of the day, but I have already lost 20lbs.
