Sleeve journey with Dr. ALvarez

Sep 26, 2010

My initial reason for picking Dr. Alvarez to do my sleeve was because he is just over the border of texas into a town called Piedras Negras. I liked the idea that it was not a"border town" Many times when I would visit my parents in arizona we would go down into mexico over the border into Nogales. Even though I had only been there once I remember thinking it was so "desperate" .From the children that scurried up to you ,to the heavy merchant population right at the border. When you cross over from Eagles Pass Tx into Piedras Negras it is like crossing over into a quite little village. The other reason I picked Dr. Alvarez was that every thing about the trip was organized and greased like a well oiled machine. We were always escorted and nothing was left to chance. I also like that there were really no hidden cost. My care was all inclusive with the price. It included my doctor,my anestigiologist,my hosital rooms, my nurses,my medications, our hotels, transportation.
My husband and I flew into San Antonio and took the 5 minute prearranged shuttle to the hotel where Rosie picked us up for the two hour ride to Eagles Pass. Nothing was left to chance. At all times we were escorted and had cell phone numbers for both Rosie and the coordinator Susan.Rosie was very accomadating and speaks fluent english. The hotel that you stay in in Eagles pass is newly renovated, spotless and accessable to local restaurants in walking distances.Of course I could not eat but my husband, sister and my Dad all could. The hotel also had a great free breakfast buffet for them in the morning.I will continue later...
