My story? Never thought i'd write one but there's a first time for everything. I am 37years old, married and a mom to my son Zack (11) and my daughter Lindsay (3). I have been overweight all of my life. I always walked that fine line between morbidly obese and obese. I was the "odd" pregnant women who  never gained a pound through both pregnancies and lost about 50 pounds after the births only to regain it all, plus some within the year. It wasn't until the birth of my first child that I noticed tumors developing randomly and quickly in my body. After the 6th one was removed I shared the frustration with my surgeon and he said weight loss could possibly help the growth of these tumors. Now although I was overweight, I was an under eater. I rarely have an appetite and eating is something I have to force myself to do. Loosing weight was next to impossible. I tried it all like almost everyone else. Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Nutri Systems. I would loose about 4 pounds and bam, 10 would come right back on. When the surgeon suggested gastric bypass I told him I figured I never qualified since I had no co-morbids but with a bmi of 42 he felt it was possible. I contacted Pittsburgh Bariatrics and saw Dr. Quinlin. Even with the 6 months of nutrional couseling and supervised diet I only lost 5 pounds. I had my gastric bypass (Roen-en-Y) on Jan 8, 2008.  I've always been the laid back and behind the scenes person who gave it all and then some but now i'm ready to get my game on!!!
