A little about me

Hi everyone my name is Elly,
I'm 37 married with one son of my own and a very lovely bunch of step children. I live in Devon UK and have been here all of my life. Another thing I have been all of my life is over weight.
The first time I realised I was bigger than everyone else was when I started school. I was bullied because of this and put on so called diet dinners at lunch time. Which to a very innocent 5 year old girl was difficult ,!!!!! I was given a tiny salad with an apple where as my friends had roasts with gravy and some kind of stodgy pudding, I didnt understand but it made me very very conscious of eating with other people. Then there was the usual being called fatty, tree trunks,etc. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed my school days as a whole but parts were a little undesirable. I can vividly remember worrying all day on a Sunday about the upcoming Monday PE lesson ( in which I HAD to wear a very short sports skirt ) . Looking back at the pics from then I wasnt as big as I was made to feel I would be more than happy to be that size now. However I am now in a UK size 22 and going through the process of getting a gastric bypass. I could sit here and type how very unattractive and un healthy I feel right now but I don't want to do that, I would like to share with you in my own funny way, each step of the road ahead. It's scary and if Im honest Im terrified but I really want this op. I have tried everthing else !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a really wonderful husband ( Not that I will tell him this of course ) who has been with me through thick and thin ( pardon the pun). I know he loves me as do all of my family but I need to do this for me. I havent got a date for the op yet,it might not be until next year who knows??? but I know I've come this far so there's no going back.
If anyone has any advice etc I would love to hear it.
