Hi Rick! You're so thin now I don't know if you even still check this page. But, I wanted you to know that I just found your stuff and read all of it and I feel so Inspired! Thank you for DOCUMENTING everything so WELL! (where did we learn that?) You've really given me a good idea of what to expect. I think I will get my date tomorrow when I go in to weigh. Pray for me!

This is Rick. I have been home now for about 6 days. All has been going fairly well. I am doing IV antibiotics 3 times a day for the wound infection and also have a penrose drain in place. I am holding my 1/2 oz of solids well. In fact I must force myself to eat. I have absolutely no hunger at all. I want to thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers during this ordeal.

Hello everyone. It is now October 7 and we are back in the hospital. We had to come back in on Saturday night and found out that Rick had a bowl obstruction. This is the reason he was vomiting. We were in surgery at about midnight Sat. He is now doind much better. He did not have any leakage in his gut so this is good news. They do however have him on lots of IVP antibiotics. He is very tired now but much better. Dr had to cut him open for this one so we are a little worried about infection. Any way I am down the street from the hosp and there was a pc her that i could get on and update you all. He is in room 214 here at CyFair hosp if any one wants to call him I am sure he would love to hear some suportave words from you guys. God Bless you all Becky

Becky & Rick ~ It's probably nothing, but you can always call your surgeon, or the hospital, and ask to speak to someone at the nurses station. Unfortunately, sometimes we do vomit, especially early on. I would recommend if it continues, to definately call your surgeon. Dehydration can occur very quickly in anyone who has just had surgery. (Not to mention it hurts at 4 days post-op!) Keep sipping the water to avoid dehydration and if it continues, call your surgeon! Congrats on the surgery ~ you'll be so surprised at how quickly you will recover and reap the benefits!

Ok, we are now 4 days out. Rick woke this morning vomiting. If someone reads this can you let me know if he should be sick like this or if this is a bad thing. Any way other than than he said he feels better. Thank you all for your support. Becky
