Hmmm, let's see....I recently got married in June of 2006 to a wonderful man who has been in the military for going on 21yrs & will be retiring as soon as he gets back from his deployment, I'm very proud of him.
We have a total of 5 children ranging from 17-2 yrs old.  LOL!
I've pretty much been overweight all of my life, wether it have been by a few pounds or more.
I've recently ballooned to my heaviest at 240, & just found out that my thryoid isn't working at all.
So, I just started medication as of this morning.
I'm excited & nervous about getting the surgery, Dr. Coon has given me the option to choose either or (lap band or gastric).
I just had my upper GI done as of yesterday & now await for my psych eval referral approval from my insurance.
It feels like it's been a long process but in reality it really hasn't been too bad.
I'm doing this surgery for me, so I can feel better about myself physically & be able to have the energy to raise my children as well as being around to see all of my children succeed in life.
I'd love any bits of advice on what to expect before & after from your own experiences.
God Bless & good luck to everyone!
