Dec 5th Five Years outHappy Surgiversary to Me.
I have shrunk a little I a know 5 foot 3in.
I weigh 135 lbs.
I am 10 lbs heavier since my goal weight of 2 years out, =2 lbs per year post op.
It is definitely tougher to maintain the weight loss.
It is a struggle like "normal" people go thru trying to stay away from the illegal foods.
Believe me if you put the carb in your mouth it is an addition and it is HARDER to get back to the protein,
and speaking of protein. My IBS has came back. I have found myself lactose intolerant. Most of the liquid protein I have found is made of whey and that is made from milk byproduct which is whey.
Why do I mention this? I am still trying to have 100 gms of protein a day to maintain my thinning hair, That is my only "post op issue" that reappeared last year. I had a scalp biopsy last year and I was told i had alopecia (female pattern baldness). I opted NOT TO DO Rogaine as I was told I had to do it every day and there was a 40% chance it would work. I talked to 2 of my Dr's. and they said I could have more fun with wigs, Well i had the wigs, but after flipping my wig once, I decided NO MORE wigs. I go Au natural thin hair and all.....
I still take ALL my vitamins Every day,
Labs every 3 months. All my labs are normal.
B/P still normal, no asthma returned, no pains in my back,no migraines, per SE,
still wear a size 8-10 clothing,
I STILL aim for the largest stall in the bathroom out of habit.Still can't get THAT outta my head! LOL
I never did have plastic surgery. Took up Belly Dancing as a hobby.
I still occasionally get food stuck in my pouch "craw". It causes a dull solid pain. I can;t eat or drink anything till I get it dislodged by trying to barf it up and that's something that is HARD and HARDER to do as time goes on..
well that;s my 5th year update. I just spent my 10th wedding anniversary with my hubby and we renewed our vows. It was wonderful. The last time we renewed our vows it was5 yrs ago right before surgery "in case I didn't make it.
