Lisa, I also have Dr. Tanaka for my surgeon. I had my Consultation on April 23 and am still waiting for a date. I'm sure I'll get my date as soon as Kaiser sends in my gallbladder ultrasound results. Dr Tanaka told me the same thing about my torso being to short for Lap I'm 5'3" I told him I'd like him to do the Lap anyway and if theirs any problems to open me up (they'd do that anyway) I really want Lap. I'm thinking they may tell that to allot of people to discourage Lap, I haven’t heard of a single person yet from PB who has had the Lap Procedure Have you? I'm a little concerned about this, but I am going to insist upon lap unless absolutely necessary.

Lisa, Congratulations for making it this far, and best wishes for an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery. I am having my Lap RNY in Fresno on the same day...and my sister, who works in Elk Grove is having hers through Kaiser at Pacific bariatric, she's waiting for her date to be set. I will be watching with interest how it goes for you...and sending my prayers your way!
