Crystal Schlosser

"My first impression of Dr. Crystal Schlosser is that she is a very together kind of woman. My impression has not changed over time either. She does not pull any punches. She tells it just like it is! The saying she's become semi-famous for is "snacking is the road to hell!" She does not hand-hold, but tells you up front what she expects of you and she expects you to do your part. This is a tool that she is able to give her patients, not a miracle, though to many people it sure feels like a miracle. Her office staff are excellent, sometimes a little disorganized and they don't always respond to inquiries before surgery. However, if you continue to contact them they will get back to you! People must understand that they are incredibly busy and cannot always drop one emergency to answer questions. Overall they are excellent! She very much emphasizes aftercare, requiring regular visits for the Rest Of Your Life! If you are not willing to commit to this, choose another surgeon. When she takes you on as a patient she is taking you on for life and she deserves the same commitment from her patients. Dr. Schlosser was upfront and open about the risks of surgery. She emphasizes that there are no guarantees. Life does not come with guarantees. However, she does sit down with you and goes over all of the different types of procedures available and helps you decide which one is best, taking into account the risks with each surgery. I rate Dr. Schlosser as a 10 on a scale of 1-10 with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best. Her bedside manner and surgical competence are both excellent! Of interest would be to note that Dr. Schlosser does not automatically offer to do a fascia-wrap of the stoma, as the other practitioners in the Minneapolis Bariatric Clinic. However, she can do this and will do this upon request. When she does perform this procedure, as she did for me, she uses tissue from a live-cell bank rather than harvesting it from another part of the patient's own body. "
