Hello to all.  My story started many years ago with weight loss with Oprah on Optifast, 106 lbs, then Adkins 113 lbs, and most recently with weight watchers 87 lbs before I gained 77 lbs back.  I was all set to have a lap band, when my Physician called and told me that my inadequate documentation of my weight loss ( due to working 4 days per week with my MD and "telling him what I weighed- guess going from a 5x to a large seemed normal to my MD huh?) was my "fault" that the insurance company wanted me to document a trial of 6 months, seeing the nutritionist. Now I can probably tell you how many calories are in almost anything.  To top that, the doctor called me after I worked all night (RN in labor and delivery) so my sleepy head just told him ok and hung up.  When I woke up, I realized that my surgery was not going to happen last January, and this was December 2006.  So..... my read headded brain gott mad and got going.  I talked with my son who is a competitive cyclist and determined 1200-1400 cal per day should give me 1-2 pounds per week.  I started on December 16, the day after my daughter's wedding,  began exercising on January 11, 2007, and have gone from my ww high of 297 down to 174!  I did stall pretty bad at 195 and decided to see a Bariatrician who recommended a short course of Tenuate, which has helped me lose down to 174.  This week I bought a bicycle and am getting ready to start the neighborhood rounds.  I am now off of all blood pressure medications, wearing a size medium scrub and work at a Weight Loss Hospital, which helps me keep all things in perspective and realize that we all are on different roads traveling to the same place, health and a thinnner being, no matter which way we do it.  My patients just drop their jaws when I show them my before picture.  Will try to post something here sometime. Thanks and have gotten a lot from all of the forums.
