"The nursing staff was not what I expected. I work for the healthcare system that Elmbrook belongs to. I was not happy with the care or concern of most of the nurses. I was in the hospital a week, and with the exception of the ICU, there were 3 nurses that I actualy feel enjoyed there jobs and cared about me as a patient. The sad thing is, one admited me on the floor and I had her for a few hours and another dischargered me and didn't have much to do with my care. And they were the best. Only one nurse that took "care" of me seemed pleaseant and competent. I had a talk with the manager of the floor. I hope this helps future patients. Elmbrook has a better reputation. I expected more."
"Cindy was nice enough, but she was a bit over the top for me. She would be fun to hang out with and be a drinking buddy, but that is not what I was looking for in a psychologist. I left feeling that there were things I wanted to say and that things revolved around her fellings, not mine. She would ask these long drawn out animated questions. By the time she was done I forgot what she was really asking. She started out by saying that she wasn't going to try to find out ant deep dark secrets, because we just don't have the time to do anything in one session. I agree with that. I just don't feel that it was any help to me. She seemed more offbalance then me."

From the time Dr. Engstrand walked into the room I felt at ease. He was very nice. He seemed grounded. I liked him instantly. He talked to me, not at me. He made sure I was making informed choices that were in my best interest and supported them. He seemed honest and caring. He listened to me. I didn't feel rushed. I have a great deal of confidence in him. His nurse Lynn is great too. She is a former patient that is a year out from RNY. It was so nice to be able to talk about these things, which are so very personal, with someone who has been there.
