I'm still here, I just haven't blogged for awhile.  I am now down 161 lbs.  Yeah!! But it is getting tougher.  I  am wanting to "graze" way too much!!!! And I am having to make myself get in all of the protein I need.  Sometimes I get afraid that I am falling back into the old habits that got be morbidly obese in the beginning, snacking on junk and wanting foods that are high in carbs and fat.  Lord please don't ever let me go back to that!!!!  I need to get more active, but I still have problems with back that will not allow me to be very physically active. But all in all life is great.  I feel better than I have in years. Thank you Lord!!!  Wow the changes in my life in just 9 months.  STILL THE BEST THINGS I EVER DID FOR MYSELF!!!!!

Hi everyone!  I have just had my 6 months checkup and I am down 135lbs.  I can't believe it.  If anyone would have told me that this would be me 6 months later I would have told them they were crazy!!  My Dr. also told me that I have lost 42% of my body fat!!!!  This is an awesome life now. 
I look back at pictures and think of how I felt being that big!  I was honestly miserable with myself.  I couldn't get around, was in tremendous pain and was mostly bedridden.  I couldn't  keep up with my kids and dissappointed them many times when I couldn't participate in activities that they wanted me to.
My how things have changed!  Life is really good!  Thank you Lord for this surgery, I truly believe that it has saved my life!!!!

Sorry I haven't updated in soooo long.  I have been busy!!!  I totally feel like a new person.  As of today I have lost a total of 70lbs!!!  I can't believe how much better I feel and the energy I have.  Thank you Lord for this surgery is all I can say!! 

This is wonderful!  I don't really ever get hungry.  When it is time to eat something my body let's me know and I take a few small bites and I'm full!  I guess I sound like sooo many others "I wish I would've done this a long time ago.  I have so much more energy now with just this amount of weight coming off.  I can't imagine what it will be like when I actually meet my goal.
Current weight is 368.  That's a total of 46lbs.  THANK YOU LORD!!!!

Down 34.5lbs altogether, since surgery 15.5lbs. WOO HOO!!!!

If you anyone tells you that WLS is the easy way to lose weight they don't have a clue!!!  My surgery went well, except Dr. Pirrello did say I made him work for it because my liver was so enlarged.  I  spent 3 days in hospital, of course the first day was the hardest.  I really don't remember a thing about that day, except I felt terrible and I slept alot (can you say morphine drip). The next day got better I was more aware of what was going on. But I was still very sore. Then on Friday I got to come home (thank you Lord for my comfortable bed and being able to sleep until I wake up on my own).  Now I am at home and have had a shower (made me feel alive again).  I will post more later.  But just wanted everyone to know I am now on the losing side.  YEAHHH!!!!    

Well here I am, down to only hours to go before my surgery.  I have done all of the things I had on my check list, now I just have time to think about everything.  I am excited about being on the "losing side" of life.  I noticed my daughters are being very considerate today, especially my oldest.  She tends to worry when I have anything health related going on.  The youngest (and the drama queen of the family) lol, has been busy asking questions.  My husband says she is most like me, in trying to be in control.  He (my husband) has been reminding me to do things all day.  That's his way of being supportive.  Lord thank you for my family!  I can't imagine my life without them.  Well I have plenty of supporters that will be at the hospital in the morning also.  My mother, sister, niece, pastor and his wife, WLS mentor/friend Shirley Covington, and of course the hubby.  My father is going to pick my girls up from school and bring them later in the day.  I am one blessed person and I thank the good Lord for it everyday.  

Well I will post more once I come home from the hospital.  Thanks for everyone who is keeping me in their prayers!!!  

Here I sit at the computer just counting down the hours.  I think I have everything done that I needed to do before going to the hospital.  Thankfully I have a wonderful family that will be with me every step of the way.  Also I know that my children are going to be well taken care of while I am at the hospital.  Yesterday's church services were awesome and I really have a peaceful assurance that everything is going to be just fine.  I am so excited to begin living, not just existing, again!!   Well I just thought I would update while I had a moment.  More to come later.

Today was my pre-op appointments with Dr. Pirello and at the hospital.  Thank you Lord everything went great.  The staff at Dr. P's office are so very helpful and kind.  He was in a talkative and dry sense of humor mood.  He really is a good Dr.  I am feeling even more at ease with him than I did.  He answered all my questions and reviewed everything in my chart, so we all are on the same page.   
At the hospital I got registered, met with the interview nurse, anesthialogist and had to take another EKG, but everything was fine.  So I am ready for the BIG DAY, April 30.  I am so excited, and believe me it shows!!!!

It has been over six months since I started this journey, but today I finally got approval from my secondary insurance company (Cigna).  "SURGERY APPROVED"
I think this is one of the happiest days I have had in a long while!!!!!  I called Dr. P's office on 3/18/08 and my surgery is scheduled for 4/30/2008!!!  Now I have to work hard not to gain any weight (actually I have to lose some) before surgery.  Dr. P will not do the surgery if you have gained.  I ask that everyone keep me in your prayers, please!
