My goodness... so very excited just last week I received "the call"...that call that many of us wait for! The doctor's office called and told me, "you've been approved"...OMG...speechless! I had so many mixed emotions...I was excited and yet scared to death...scared of the unknown and I started to doubt this whole ordeal all together. Well just today I had my pre-op appointment. I had an EKG, EDG (scope down your throat) and bloodwork. I am scheduled for my surgery on the 24th of this month. It seems like I waited for this for so long, that now that it's upon us...it's making me sick... the anticipation is killing me...I just don't like to get into the "unknown"...if only I could see into the future and know that I have made the right decisions. I pray about this and I have also handed it over to our LORD Jesus Christ!  In a couple of weeks I will have my surgery and will keep you updated. I currently weigh 272 lbs this is my highest weight ever, I'm 35, and wear size 22/24-- 2X/3X. Wish me luck!

11/24/07-One full month since surgery.I am not due to see the doctor until my 6 week follow-up but I went in on the 19th because the week before I had a pulled muscle in my belly and I was in pain...and since I was in I got weighed and I had lost a total of 34 lbs from 272 to 238...awesome...I will weigh in again on the 3rd of December which will be my 6 week follow-up. I will be back in here to update my profile and tracker. I only have about 60 more to go for my goal!!!  This is awesome. Other than my pulled muscle...everything else is going well. I take my vitamins, drink my water or as much as I can. I am still just having smashed/mashed food, softs foods. I guess I will graduate into more food when I go see the doctor on the 3rd. I will keep you posted.

01/24/08-Went to my 3 mos post-op appointment with Dr. Miranda.I am down to 210 lbs...62 lbs weight loss in 3 mos!!!! Unbelievable but true. I am now wearing size Large tops or 16 and 16 pants. I have been going through so many clothes lately, which is wonderful and I'm not complaining. Doctor told me that I am doing well and right on the marker for 3 mos. He said he was proud of me and that I should be able to incorporate more foods and more exercises. I was just walking because I was afraid of doing any strenous excercises...I certainly didn't want to pull another muscle that was painful. I have an appointment for my 6 mos post-op in April. I will keep you posted and I will also try to figure out how to down load new photos of the "new" me! Oh, another thing, I have been going out on alot of dates, men are asking me out non-stop!  This has really done wonders to my self-esteem. I feel alot more confident and proud of myself!! I will leave on that note, life is great and it's great to be me right now!! Until APril, bye now!

Update, went to my 6 mos post-op visit with Dr. Miranda on April 30, 2008. I weighed in at 180 lbs. I have lost a total of 75 lbs since surgery. I found out that that weight you lost prior to surgery is not counted, the doctor counts the weight you have lost since the day of surgery. Any how. I weighed in at 255 lbs the day of surgery. I weighed in in April at 180 lbs a total of 75 lbs lost. I now wear size large and 14/16...long way from the 22/24 and 3x's I was wearing. I am told that I look like a total different person. I still feel the same though and still feel that I still weigh what I did before. But none the less I am happy. No regrets and pushing/moving forward. I want to be at 150 lbs which according to the "chart" would be my ideal weight for someone of my stature and body frame. So I have 30 lbs to go and I want to reach that by or within a years time. That gives me 5 more months. October 2008 will make a year of my surgery. Well that's all folks, I will keep you posted. Bye...
