8/15/04: Back from vacation in OC; very little restriction, can seem to eat anything. Saw pictures of wedding and shower; still need to lose more weight -- where's the scale?! Have more energy, need to walk more.

5/7/04: Got on scales today and I'm down 23 pounds !!! Haliluyah!!! I'm estatic and humbled. Talked to Deby (sp) and she's sending a sample of those Herbolife protein drinks. Its difficult to get in those 60 grams of protein sometimes ... that is if you don't start the day off with a protein drink ... and most of them are sooooooo boring and bland. Working on my appeal to BS/BC. Since Dr. Wanda told us she was moving to Kansas, need to find a person who will do our fills; Ada passed on name of Dr. Schweitzer, JHU, he looks good. On his website, found the name of a legal team that specializes in bariatric denials, need to check out. So much to do, so little time!

4/21/04: Had the surgery on 4/15/04 and survived! Because of low Oxygen readings, had to spend the night at hospital (cant wait to see the charge!) - my anesthesiologist kept saying the sleep apnea patients ALWAYS spend the night, but I thought mine would be in/out surgery. Guess it's for the best, saved everyone a trip back to Virginia the following day. Not bouncing back as quick as I used to ; had a problem with taking Zoloft and loritab (they don't mix)and with AMOUNTS of meds I was on. I'm staying with my daughter and Dr. Kaniewski has been wonderful working with her and I (over phone); I'm realizing I won't need the same amount of medications I was on, so that's a new freedom. Been reading other comments, and I definitely need the Gax-X - either that or hire myself out to NASA for a cheap form of Mission Control fuel, eeg gads! Good luck to all.
