Hi Doug, I saw your post to John Ott's surgery support page, and I just wanted to offer you my condolences on John's passing... I was fortunate to have gotten to know John over the past 2 years since he started posting to the OH board. He will truly be missed by me and so so sooooo many people within the CA board.... Well now that I have a new power cord for the computer I can finally get back in here to post again! Doug is still continuing to do very well and I visited with him again last night and he said that perhaps he will be going home on Friday, (tomorrow). That of course is wonderful news and again thanks to all of those who have prayed and thought of Doug this week. I will up-date with any new info when it arrives. I'm proud of you Doug! You have done great! Love and Hugs, Gayle :-)

Just wanted everyone to know that Doug is doing very well today, in a little discomfort but overall is doing great. He has been up walking several times today and takes his naps, (like I still do!) and is trying to keep up and active. He is really an amazement to the nurses who are caring for him, they are quite impressed with his recovery. Thanks again to everyone who has thought of Doug and prayed for his safety and recovery. He is well on his way to a new life! :-) gayle

Doug was admitted to Abbott Northwestern Hospital at 5:30 this morning and was taken into surgery at 7:26. Dr. Drew arrived at 11:05 to tell his wife Lori, and his father that the surgery was complete and was a success. Doug spent the next three hours in recovery and was moved to a room at 2:00. I just peeked in on him for a second and then drove myself home for the evening. So when I left the hospital he was just coming out of the anesthesia and was sleeping in and out. Mostly out..... :-) I will post more tomorrow. Thanks to everyone for their support and prayers for Doug.

Sweet Doug.....I can't believe the time has gone by so fast and now you are on the eve of a brand new life. I am praying my guts out for you today but I know that you are going to do fine. It is perfectly normal to have the feelings that you are experiencing....I cried all the way to the OR, but if I could share with you the feelings I have now after the surgery, .....oh my, you are going to be so happy! I will be here for anything you and Lori may need. Never even hesitate to ask. I send my love to you now and my prayers for a safe, uneventful and totally successful procedure. I am so happy for you and so proud of you. God knows the thoughts and plans He has for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope....Jeremiah 29:11 I love you, see ya tomorrow! Gayle
