October 19, 2006

I started this journey in march 2006. Researching and reading eerything I could find about WLS. Went to have an extensive visit with my PCP in June and discussed my having this surgery. He agrees that it is a good choice for me and is very supportive. Love that man. Got referral to Dr. Malik and made appt. Went for appt and it went well. He says I am a candidate and tells me what all I have to do for preop. I got my EKG CXR PFT and labs done. Then in mid July, I got my nuritionist consult done. Then in early august I had one visit with the psych dr. Wow, things going smoothly.I  am a nurse and it is hard for me to take off work. I work 8-4:30 mon-fri, So you see it is difficult to schedule appts. All I have left is EGD and ABG's. Then, I get a letter in the mail telling me that Dr. Malik is no longer performing WLS. So, research some more. I read and hear a lot of good things about Dr. Enochs so I call and talk to Holly. She said he was taking some of Dr. malik's patients so I Give her info and she calls me back in a couple of days after checking out my insurance and schedules me for initial visit with Dr. Enochs. My appt is Oct. 25. I am excited. She told me to bring all of my testing results and they would let me know what else I need to do for them. So that is my journey so far, in a nutshell. I will post as I progress. All of you have been very helpful to me all these months that I have been lurking on this site. Thank you all .  Angie
