Alan Geiss

"My first impression of Dr. Geiss was \"finally someone who could help me.\" My impression of him hasn't changed because he did help me. It took a long time ( a year to be precise due to the 6 month diet, all the different medical things that needed to be done and school) and there were many lows ie. doctors that were more of a head ache than a help, but I finally was able to get the Lap-Band surgery done. His office is beautiful. He definately put some time and effort into decorating it. His staff is nice and they try to help you out as much as possible. One thing that people should know about him and that I still don't like is that before the surgery, I only saw him and spoke to him once. That was at the ok for surgery. I never saw him again until the day of the surgery. I am hoping to see him more now that I have had the surgery because I do like to be comfortable around all of my doctors. The thing that I did like though is when it comes to scheduling, he schedules, or at least his secretary does, everything for you to ensure that you get seen. If you need to change it you can but ultimately he wants to make sure that you are able to get seen. Overall, I would rate him and his staff and 8 out of 10. So far his surgical competence seems to be better than his bedside manner since I haven't really gotten the chance to make jokes with him like I do all my doctor (a sense of humor is very important to me).
