I was not overweight at a young child, but once I hit puberty I started gaining weight. I was chubby then, but not really dangerously obese. Once I graduated high school and moved to the dorms in college I didn't gain the freshman 15, but more like the freshman 50! That was 6 years ago and I have been gaining since.

I lost 70 pounds while on Phentermine and a 70 carbs or less diet for 10 months. It was very unhealthy and I gained it all back (and then some!) so that's where I am now. My husband of 10 months is obese as well, but he is not open to getting surgery for himself at this time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he will see how well I am doing (hopefully!) after surgery and change his mind.

I am not getting the surgery to look better (although that will be great!) but to get healthy! No one else in my family is obese, but many diseases still runs within my family. I don't want to get diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, etc. and I want to live a long and healthy life and someday have children.
