Hi, my name is Clarissa and I am a 37 year old, single mother of a 13 boy. I am going through the process to have WLS (RNY), hopefully by mid summer. I did this almost 2 years ago and between not being able to quit smoking and just being a big chicken, never followed through on the last visit. This time is different. I AM READY!! I have been big my ENTIRE adult life. I am 5'2 and the lowest I have weighed in the past 20 years is 170 lbs. I feel like I have missed having REAL fun with my son when he was younger. I did things with him, played and all that, but I tired easily. Now, I am bigger than I have EVER been in my life. The last time I weighed, the scale showed 274 lbs!!! Are you kidding me??!! 274 OMG!! Since then, I have quit smoking!! 
HOORAY FOR ME!! but on the other hand....I feel like I have gained more weight since I quit smoking. My clothes are fitting a little more snug. But that's okay....I QUIT SMOKING!! NOW, I just gotta let food stop comforting my loss of cigarettes! I am working on that, trying to snack healthier, laying off the sodas, but I gotta keep my coffee...with splenda of course!
My journey is no different from anyone elses. I am overweight, unhappy, not healthy or not as healthy as I should be, uncomfortable and just plain out TIRED!! Done the dieting, miracle pill, grapefruit diet, vinegar diet, etc...... NOTHING WORKED!! I realize the WLS is a TOOL and in order for it to work, you have to make good choices. I am ready for this! I will need support from friends, family and co-workers. My best friend, you know who you are, I will be leaning to you for help, guidance and support since you have already traveled this road and been so very successful! I am proud of you and my dream is for BOTH of us to stand in the pants that you gave me, me in one leg and you in the other. That will be awesome!!
