I am doing great. Had a little hiccup, somehow or other my kink resistant tubing became kinked up in some fatty tissue. So 04/27/11 I had a port/tubing replacement. I wont know for sure until my 2 week checkup but I do not think she removed my fluid. Beforehand we spoke of it and she said if she changed the port/tube some would more than likely leak out but she was not going to deliberately empty it :-) I am doing awesome, started my journey at 338 and was 241 on 04/25/11 when we scheduled this fix. I was 238 at the time of surgery but since I had to drink something to "cleanse" myself I do not think that counts :-) .... hope to post some before/current photos soon.

Well it is Monday and my surgery was last Thursday. A large hernia was discovered so I was in overnight. The hospital staff was wonderful. I was down to 298.2 at the time of surgery and now I am up 3.2 lbs even though I am not getting a full 1200 calories down, how are you supposed to drink these 8 oz shakes at 2 oz every 15 minutes and get 4 of them down along with 64 ounces of water?

It is Sunday night and my surgery is Thursday, tomorrow is my one cheat day of the two week diet and Tuesday I start my 48 hours of liquid. I am down another 10 pounds and I need to figure out how to change the tracker .. lol

only 9 days to go

Only 9 days and counting ... doing fairly well with the prediet .. it hasnt been easy things at work are incredibly stressful right now and I can hardly wait for the time off after surgery :-) .. I am taking full advantage and taking 4 weeks off .. terrible I know but I work 70 - 80 hours a week now and I want to have myself really settled with my band before I go back to work. Going to do my best to work fewer hours and learn to live without the money :-)

presurgery diet

I think I am going to start the 2 week presurgery diet early. No time like the present huh? We have had a solid month of retirement parties at work and I need to step away from the cake :-) ... so gonna stock up on chicken, yogurt, fruit, I have difficulty with vegetables, don't mind lettuce but I struggle with the calories in dressings.

I have a date!! - July 22, 2010!!

So I have my date set and I am so excited. I went for my appointment a little early because I wanted to talk to be sure lapband was best for me and that I shouldnt maybe go with a full bypass. I have to say the surgeon disappointed me a bit .. she told me with either surgery I would never get down below 200 lbs. She said I could expect to lose 50 in a year and if lucky 75 in 3 years. I really think this was a horrible thing to tell me. But the joke will be on her because it just first me up to prove her wrong. In getting ready to do this I lost 30 pounds in 6 months all by myself with a full raging appetite and little excercise the first couple of months. I refuse to be limited by her expectations.

My Incentive

My biggest incentive has to be healthier and live a longer life for my children. Then my daughter/son-in-law added to that by giving me the gift of my first grandchild. The baby is due this October and we found out today that she is having a girl!!! We are all so excited. All the money I save from a small grocery bill will go towards pink/purple baby clothes :-)
