Glenda - I too have all the support my hubby and son can give. And I told my sister and she was supportive as well. But telling my mom, that was a different story. I was afraid that my mother would freak out. You see, the RNY is similar to the surgery my brother had to have because of stomach cancer that ended up claiming his life a year ago. He ended up with about a quarter of his stomach and I was afraid mom would be against it because of the association. When I finally broke down and told her I planned on having this done sometime next February or March (have to wait because of insurance woes), she was very supportive. In fact, I think she's excited for me. You could have knocked me over with a feather! And to think I almost waited telling her until after it was over. That was my experience, I hope your's is just as positive!
